A man was arrested on charges of rape after allegedly locking his wife out of the house and raping his young daughter, police in Edo State, Nigeria said.
The Edo State Police Command said that they have arrested the suspect identified as Osaro, 55, after being accused of raping his 9-year-old daughter.
The mother of the victim, Stella, told investigators that her husband kicked her out of the family apartment around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, and locked himself inside along his their two daughters.
The following day, the 9-year-old girl told her mother what the suspect did to her. When the mother attempted to examine her daughter, the suspect attacked her.
The girl told investigators that her father raped her many times. The suspect will be brought before a magistrate's court judge for a bail hearing.
The mother also revealed that her husband impregnated her 17-year-old daughter, but she forgave him.
