Iker Casillas wants to move to Arsenal, wants Real Madrid contract terminated

Legendary Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas wants to move to Arsenal, according to reports in Spain.

Casillas, who suffered a nightmare World Cup as the Spanish exited at the group stage, is so desperate for a move away from Real that he wants club officials to terminate his contract and allow him to move for free.

The 33-year-old has lost his place to Diego Lopez for domestic league matches and despite helping Real win the Champions League, Casillas is now ready to move with Costa Rican stopper Keylor Navas close to joining.

Spanish paper EL Confidencial report Casillas is keen on a move to Arsenal who could move quickly to bring the Spaniard to the Premier League despite also being linked with Nice's David Ospina.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already allowed Lukasz Fabianski to leave for Swansea and the Frenchman remains unconvinced that Wojciech Szczesny is a long term solution in goal for the Emirates outfit.

A move to the Gunners would end a 24-year association with Real Madrid for Casillas having moved up through the youth ranks, where he has played nearly 700 games.
