Flood claims lecturer's life in Osun State

The heavy rain, which fell on Thursday in Osun State, claimed the life of a 45-year-old lecturer from the Department of Computer Science, Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, Mr. Adeniyi Adebowale, while he drove through a flooded road.

He was said to have been warned against driving through the road by residents of the area but Adebowale, a prince from Offa, was said to have insisted on taking that road instead of a safer alternative which would have taken him more time.

Eyewitnesses said that the Toyota Camry which Adebowale was driving, was submerged by the flood. It was discovered a distance close from the spot where it got swept away on Friday with Adebowale's dead body on the back seat. He had been trying to escape from the car.
