Police kill three, hoodlums block highway in Ikorodu




Police officers from the Ajegunle Police Station are suspected of killing three persons who were among those protesting against the killing of two young men in the same area by policemen on Friday.

Speaking about the events that occurred on Friday, yesterday, security operatives claimed that the men were in possession of, smoking and selling marijuana (Indian hemp). According to the information provided by the eyewitnesses, several policemen chased four men until they jumped into the lagoon.

As a result of police “operation” two of the young men were shot to death while two others managed to escape.Reacting to the incident, the local youths organized a protest against the killing that also ended in a death of three youths.

The death toll could rise as the policemen continued their manhunt for some suspected hoodlums.The two lanes of the expressway have been blocked to both human and vehicular traffic.
