At least six persons have been reportedly killed yesterday in Kano after a bomb hit Maiduguri road, opposite NNPC filling station in Hotoro area of the State. Although the military is yet to make any official statement, the Kano State Police PRO, ASP Musa Majiya, confirmed the incident, saying that there was no confirmation of the casualty figure yet.
“Yes, it is true. We are at the scene now and we are rescuing people. When we are through, we will talk to the press”, he said.
An eyewitness, however, said he saw the bodies of at least six people. The dead reportedly includes the suicide bomber, three policemen and two others.
One Salami who resides in the area said he had just left the city when the incident occurred. “I couldn’t help thinking this could happen”, he said.
