Seven months pregnant woman punched in stomach by ruthless robbers as they raided her home

A heavily pregnant woman was punched in the stomach by ruthless robbers as they raided her home.
Four men forced their way into the mum-to-be's house in Bury, Greater Manchster, at around 6pm last night.

After searching the rooms downstairs, they charged into the 22-year-old victim's bedroom demanding cash and jewellery. Then they punched the woman, who is seven months pregnant, in the face and stomach.

After the thieves made off with jewellery and cash the woman was taken to hospital as a precaution, but thankfully neither she nor her unborn child was hurt.

Police Constable Paul Boothwell said: “Thankfully this traumatic incident does not appear to have caused any lasting damage to the woman or her unborn child but she has been taken to hospital as a preacuation.

“To threaten and assault a heavily-pregnant woman in her own home is cowardly and reprehensible"
