DHQ: Our Troops Destroyed Terrorists In Borno
Troops on counter-terrorism in the North East have reported a successful operation against terrorists who attempted a revenge mission to Konduga in Borno State.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Defense Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
“Troops this morning successfully crushed another attempt by terrorists who were on a revenge mission to Konduga, after 12 hours of fighting in the outskirts of the Borno State community. Troops are now combing the vicinity, in a cordon and search operation to determine the heavy casualties suffered by the terrorists in the encounter,” the statement read.
It confirmed three Hilux vehicles, one Amoured Personnel Car and a cache of arms and ammunition were confirmed captured by the troops.
The military in a statement last Friday claimed to have routed Boko Haram militants in Konduga after the alleged Boko Haram terrorists launched a massive attack on the town about 35 kilometres from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
