See more photos of Nollywood stars from the Del-York Creative Academy Award Night

Last weekend was the graduation ceremony of 75 participants of the recently concluded Del-York Creative Academy in Lagos. So sad I missed the awesome event.

Several seasoned Nollywood star who made the event and lent their support include Monalisa Chinda, Segun Arinze and Ufoma Ejenobor-McDermott.

These participants went through a remoulding process under the tutelage of great minds from the American film industry. The workshop tagged ‘Film Made In Nigeria’ took place at the Digital Bridge Institute, Lagos where the participants were trained in courses such as editing, graphics design, directing, film making, special effects, production and set design, makeup and screen writing.

During the duration of the workshop, the students shot several short films which are a testament to the world-standard quality of training they received at the Academy. I have seen some of these films and was amazed at how they were able to display such a high level of creativity and professionalism after a four-week course!

The event took place on Friday 15th August 2014 at the Muson Center, Onikan, Lagos. It was one of class, colour and style as it attracted the crème de la crème from various industries who all shared a common passion for growth of Nigeria’s creative sector. Also in attendance was the Consular-General of France to Nigeria, Mr Francois Sastourne, and seasoned Lawyer and Partner at Abraham & Co Solicitors Mena Ajakpovi.

There is no doubt that Nollywood is set for a revolution as these bright minds are ready to take the Industry by storm. Check out some photos from the Award Night & Graduation Ceremony.
