Parents leave disabled son in fridge to freeze to death

A heartless mum and dad who left their disabled young son in a fridge until he froze to death are facing murder charges.

Karp Ulyanov and his wife Uliana told police they were "extremely drunk" at the time of the incident in Arkhangelsk - a city in northern Russia. They claim they don't remember what happened to their four-year-old son, who was paralysed from the waist down.

The little boy's frozen body was found by his horrified grandfather when he visited the family home.
A police spokesman said: "We are investigating the circumstances of this death."

It comes two months after two little girls aged four and six died after shutting themselves in a fridge during a game of hide and seek.
