When it comes to being a global female popstar, diva behavior comes with the territory. However, it appears to have got Nicki Minaj in trouble as she is now being sued for turning up late to an event.
The New York Post reports that IMP Entertainment claim Nicki arrived late and left early at the NBA All-Star Weekend event, despite being paid $50,000 to be the host.
Nicki was said to be 90 minutes late for the event on 19 February in Hollywood back in 2011.
The organisers claim that the rapper then left after just 30 minutes, despite being contracted to stay for an hour. Meanwhile it has been reported that Nicki will take to the stage at The Forum in Inglewood, California, on August 24, to sing her new track Anaconda from her latest album The PinkPrint which is due out later this year, reports MTV News.
It will be the third time the 31-year-old singer and rapper has performed at the annual ceremony. In 2012 she joined Alicia Keys on stage for a rendition of her hit Girl On Fire after making her debut performance at the event with her track Your Love in 2011.
Nicki said: 'The VMAs is a pretty big deal so people go all out for it. I am very, very excited and looking forward to the performance.'
Let's hope she turns up on time!
