Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally tied the knot. And they kept the nuptials a complete secret until today.
A publicist for the couple, who have been together since 2005 and have six children, told the Associated Press that the wedding took place Saturday in a small chapel on the property of their sprawling Provencal estate, Chateau Miraval, in France. The nondenominational civil ceremony was attended by friends and family — and, yes, their offspring took part in the wedding. Maddox and Pax walked Jolie down the aisle, Zahara and Vivienne threw petals, and Shiloh and Knox were ring bearers.
The movie stars, who met filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith (while he was famously still married to Jennifer Aniston) and recently announced plans to co-star in By the Sea, confirmed their engagement in April 2012 after seven years of dating. Pitt presented Jolie with a stunning ring — featuring diamonds set on a band of yellow gold — that he helped their jeweler friend Robert Procop, who is behind the "Style of Jolie" jewelry line, design.
At the time of their engagement, the couple known as Brangelina said there was "no date set," and it has been a slow road to the altar. That is in part because Jolie underwent a preventive double mastectomy in 2013.
