Tour de France: Woman suffers serious injuries falling from roof as spectators watch race from building tops




A Tour de France spectator has been airlifted to hospital after falling through a roof while watching the event.


A teenage boy has also been injured after being hit by a cycling team vehicle, police said.


It is believed the woman, who is said to be in her forties, was watching the event when her roof collapsed.

Scores of spectators have been pictured to rooftops of buildings lining the route, with some teetering on dangerously on the edge.


She sustained serious head injuries and was treated at the scene by ambulance staff before being rushed to hospital by air ambulance.


Its is believed the woman had climbed on the roof via a first floor window.
