The clash was between the police and some youths around Magidun and Ogolonton. According to the Punch report, the babies were stolen at about 7am this morning.
They were said to have later been recovered inside a travelling bag.
The crisis had reportedly resulted in traffic in the area as motorists and passengers could hardly see due to the tear gas used by the police to disperse the youths. The police were also said to have shot in the air to disperse them.
