Brendan Rodgers will know the importance of strengthening this summer as his side re-enter the Champions League after a four-year absence.
Spanish giants Barcelona will make a sensational £56million offer for Luis Suarez - throwing in Chile star Alexis Sanchez as well, according to the Daily Star. The Premier League's top scorer in 2013-14, Suarez is on the hitlist of both of Spain's big two this summer. And although Liverpool rate Suarez at closer to the £85million that Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale last summer, Los Cules hope to bridge that gap by offering Alexis as a makeweight in any deal.
The Chilean, Alexis, has starred at the World Cup, and notched over 20 goals for Barca last season.
But new boss Luis Enrique seemingly doesn't rate the former Udinese man and wants rid - Juventus and Manchester United have been mooted as possible destinations - and is looking to kill two birds with one stone by using him as bait in a move for Uruguay striker Suarez.
