A teenage boy has died after he got into difficulties while trying to save a girl who had got into trouble swimming in a man-made pond on Friday.
The 13-year-old, who was named locally as Ricky Osagie from Warrenstown, passed away this morning at Temple Street Children’s Hospital with his parents Kelly and Lydia by his bedside.

The accident happened in the Waterville Hall residential complex in Blanchardstown, Dublin when a young girl got into difficulties in the water and that another girl and a boy came to her assistance.
Paramedics were called to the scene shortly after the accident at 6.15pm, and all three teenagers were taken from the Capture.
Friends of Ricky have already paid tribute to him.
One wrote on Facebook: “I still can’t believe your gone.”
A friend of the children said on Friday: “I came ten minutes after it happened.
“When I was walking over to them, one of his [the boy’s] best friends stopped me and told me what happened but I didn’t think it was true.
“Then I ran down and saw everyone.
“When I ran over to them my friend was getting questioned but everyone else was crying and then so was I.
“One girl was saved by the boy’s friend but the last girl was just in huge shock. She was her best friend.”
The girl was brought to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for treatment and is understood to be doing well, as is the other teenage girl.
