A new mum blissfully happy with her baby - two days later she was dead

This picture shows the perfect bliss of a new mum with her baby son - two days before her heartbreaking death. Lisa Parkisson, who would have been 36 today, was the happiest she had ever in the hours after little Zac's birth. But, just 42 hours later, her family received a call from Royal Oldham Hospital which changed their lives forever. Now her loved ones, including partner Chris Harding, 35, sister Ally Ziemniak, and parents Robert Parkisson and mum Judith Smith, are demanding answers over her death.

Lisa was admitted to hospital on Saturday night, where the baby was found to be breach. It meant her planned water birth gave way to a casearean operation and Zac was born at about 2.30am. On Sunday, Zac was taken away to be observed in the neo-natal unit while Lisa rested after her operation. By Monday morning, she was dead.

The hospital has launched an investigation and the coroner has been informed.

The sad event took place at The Royal Oldham Hospital in Oldham, Greater Manchester, England.
