Man calls himself a monster after raping 2-year-old girl while he was drunk

 


A man was arrested after a young girl was found to be raped.

Now, the man who was labeled a “nice guy” by the victim's grandmother, referred to himself as a monster.

27-year-old Michael Shelby Skellenger of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was jailed on charges of raping the two-year-old girl.

Hamilton County Deputies responded to the Children's Advocacy Center, where a report of rape was made.

According to the affidavit, the girl told her grandmother that Skellenger had hurt her in the private area. The grandma took the girl for an exam. A nurse at the Children's Advocacy Center, found bruising and bleeding in the area.

The grandmother knows Skellenger, and he was around the child. Skellenger was taken for questioning. He told officers that he had been drinking the night of the alleged attack and did not remember raping the girl.

He was later given a polygraph test in which he allegedly admitted to assaulting the girl. He said that she began to cry so he stopped to hug her and calm her down.

However, instead of consoling the child he raped her, Skellenger told investigators that he is “a monster for doing so.”

Skellenger was charged with aggravated rape of a minor. His bail was set at $300,000.
