Rihanna wears men's boxer shorts for night out in New York

Hot stuff: Rihanna certainly made her presence known as she arrived at the VIP Room in NYC's Meatpacking district

She isn't afraid of wearing daring clothes - if barely any at all. Yet Rihanna has gone one better by wearing a pair of men's boxer shorts as outer-wear for an evening out in New York. The Unapologetic singer was exactly that as she stepped out in Manhattan's Meatpacking district on Wednesday, where she visited the local VIP Club.

The Barbadian-born performer matched the look with a black bra top, kitten heels and a denim shirt for a touch of discretion. Flaunting her tattoos as well as her toned figure, the music icon added a flash of maroon lipstick and some simple jewellery. She strode into the club with a large smile, wearing deep purple lipstick. She stepped carefully on the cobblestone streets in her high heels but made it inside without a hitch.

Looking good: Rihanna wore a skimpy outfit, which displayed her toned abs and legs

The venue is described as a 'gentleman's cabaret club' and features scantily-clad female dancers. If that raises eyebrows, it won't be the first time she has courted controversy recently. Earlier this month she was forced to deny claims she supports the Palestinian Authority after a tweet was sent from her official account. which simply contained the hashtag '#FreePalestine'. But TMZ claimed that after she was inundated with questions from fans asking if she supported Hamas, the tweet was removed with eight minutes of first appearing. According to NY Mag, the hashtag was re-tweeted 7,000 times by her followers before it was removed.

Better the denim you know! Rihanna showed off her taut tummy of the night out  She's a pro! She stepped carefully on the cobblestone streets in her high heels but made it inside without a hitch.

Rihanna had apparently been reading about the Israel-Gaza conflict, which flared up after three Israeli teenagers were murdered, and then a Palestinian was killed in an apparent revenge attack.
Three Jews suspected of being behind the revenge attack, in which Mohammed Abu Khdeir, 16, was kidnapped and burnt alive, were charged with murder Monday.

The killers of the three Israeli teenagers who were murdered have not yet been caught.
A source told TMZ that while reading about the conflict, it appeared that Rihanna had inadvertently sent out the hash tag.

Taking a short-cut: The chart-topper wore boyfriend shorts to combat the heat

  1. MY heart is sad,
    My peace is o'er;
    I find it never
    And nevermore.

    When gone is he,
    The grave I see;
    The world's wide all
    Is turned to gall.
