Adam Lallana will complete his £25million move to Liverpool in the next 24 hours - and Brendan Rodgers promises there will be more signings. Lallana’s switch from Southampton will take the Anfield side's spending this summer to £40m, following the deals to bring in his England teammate Rickie Lambert, also from the Saints, and the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can.
The Reds are also pursuing forwards Alexis Sanchez (Barcelona), Lazar Markovic (Benfica) and Divock Origi (Lille) and remain interested in Sevilla full-back Alberto Moreno and another Southampton player, defender Dejan Lovren.
Liverpool’s splurge could top £100m, and Rodgers says they need a bigger squad if they are to make an impact on their return to the Champions League next season.
Origi looks the most likely to be next through the door. Liverpool are talking to Lille about a possible £9.8m deal, which would see the teenage Belgian World Cup forward return on loan to the French club next season.
Sanchez will be the hardest deal to pull off - the Chilean winger would prefer to join Arsenal if he does leave Barcelona.
