Fumes from a generator exhaust at the weekend, killed an entire family. The man, his wife, a visitor and two children one of which is a five months- old baby all died at number 65, Uyo Nung- Udoe Road in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The family, including, a girl friend of a tenant in the compound identified as Raph Ofor from Ikot Abasi, slept off while watching the world cup when the tragedy occurred. An eyewitness and a brother to the land lord of the house who refused to disclose his name said that the small generator popularly known as I pass my neighbour, was kept very close to the entrance of their one room rented apartment before the incident.
He said no one knew that something happened that night. They we woke up early in the morning to find that their door was half open with no sign of life. The landlord then peeped and discovered that they were all dead.
