Carjackers drag boy to his death after he became entangled in seat belt when mother tried to save him
A 4-year-old boy was dragged to his death after men carjacked his mother’s vehicle.
37-year-old Chantel Morris, took her two kids to visit their grandmother on Saturday, when she decided to take the children to McDonald’s.
When they stopped at an intersection in Reiger Park, Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, South Africa, two armed men approached and ordered her to get out.
“I told the men to take whatever they wanted, but asked them to leave my children,” cried the devastated mother.
The woman managed to get her 8-year-old daughter out of her car. She then grabbed her son from the back seat of the car. She hugged her son and held him as she desperately tried to untangle his leg from the seat belt.
However, the carjackers were in a rush and wanted to get away. The mother begged them to help her free her son, but they drove off, dragging the child along.
The abandoned car was found about 5 miles away. The boy's body was still attached to the seat belt. Police said that the three suspects are on the run.
Father Elwin Morris, 34, tried to console his wife as she spoke about the loss of her beloved son.
